12:21 am - Happy, happy! Joy, joy!

I just went to the surgeon's this week and I won't be needing a plate.  The bone is healing and I can start walking without the crutches.  It took me most of the day today, but I took my first steps without my crutches late this afternoon.  I'm going to be free!  I'm going to be able to carry things!  I can do housework again.  Whoops.

Thanks for the heads up -  I went to www.mybrokenleg.com a few days ago and it really was great.  Just reading the tips from all the other people who've done this before was great.  And a big thanks to you guys for telling me what to expect.  It helps!!

So what did you do to yourself to deserve a broken ankle? This happened back in October and you're still having a tough time walking? Yikes! My nine-year-old says I walk like a zombie and my twelve-year-old asked, "Just curious... when will you walk like a normal person again?" Kids are so great for a person's ego!

Any luck with finding a site that deals with ankles?
